Advocacy

Join us in our efforts to offer more resources for individuals with chronic kidney disease (CKD) and dietitians working in kidney care. We'll add updates as they come up.

  • Do you know who your lawmakers are? Find your lawmakers to learn who represents you in Congress and how you can contact them on kidney policy.

  • In Georgia, we are able to donate gently used household items and clothing. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of our used goods is donated to the American Kidney Fund (AKF). Find out more!

  • Become an AKF Ambassador to make an important difference on Capitol Hill, in state legislatures and in your own community. You will learn the skills to fight for policies that improve kidney care, protect patients' access to care and increase funding for kidney research.

  • Check out all the AKF current campaigns and take action by telling Congress why they should care about kidney disease. *This takes <2 minutes to make a BIG impact using AKF's prewritten messages and talking points sent directly to your representatives!

  • Discover all the AKF Policy Resources, including a GA state factsheet, specific GA laws around donation, and issue commentary.

  • The AKF is fighting for health equity in kidney disease. Watch a recent webinar on the topic and see how they are working to improve access for all.

  • Consider using AKF's Kidney Kitchen Proâ„¢, a centralized digital resource specifically for dietitians who work with people who have, or are at risk for, kidney disease. On Kidney Kitchen Pro, dietitians can access and share valuable resources, create custom meal plans and build custom toolkits to help people living with kidney disease better manage their health through nutrition.

  • Join the NephCure Action Network (NCAN), a movement of patients with rare kidney disease and their caregivers, physicians, and partner organizations who all have one goal: to save kidneys and save lives through lasting legislative and policy improvements.

  • Check out NephCure's Action Center, where you can find your legislatures and take action on current Senate and House action alerts.
