Annmarie Duggan, MS, RD
Annmarie has over 40 years of experience including 27 years working as a renal dietitian, caring for both in-center and home dialysis patients. Her career has included experience as a nutrition support dietitian, research coordinator and member of advisory boards and speakers’ bureaus. She has a passion for education and has served as an adjunct professor, preceptor for dietetic interns and new renal dietitians.
Melanie Betz, MS, RD, CSR, FNKF, FAND
Melanie is a nationally recognized kidney stone expert in Chicago, IL. She started her career in nephrology at the University of Chicago and founded The Kidney Dietitian blog in 2020 to educate both patients and healthcare professionals about kidney stone prevention. The Kidney Dietitian now touches around 20,000 people every day. Melanie regularly publishes to promote the role of nutrition and the RDN in both kidney disease treatment and kidney stone prevention, and speaks regularly at local, state and national organizations. She is the current Chair of the Renal Practice Group and Past-President of the Illinois Council on Renal Nutrition. Maiya Slusser-Hogan, MS, RD, CD, CNSC
Working as a dietitian for over a decade, Maiya serves as the Renal Therapy Educator for Patient Care America. First and foremost, as a clinician, she is dedicated to helping people improve their quality of life through improved nutrition. Currently, she does this by digging into the research; looking at all the nitty-gritty details related to nutrition, the body, and renal disease; and brings all that information to renal healthcare professionals to improve their nutrition practice and provide continuing education hours.
Michelle Broussard, PhD, MS, RDN, LD
Dr. Michelle D. Broussard, PhD, MS, RD, LD, is a public health leader, Registered
Dietitian, and educator with more than 30 years of experience advancing nutrition, health promotion, and chronic disease prevention. Throughout her career, she has focused on improving health literacy and health outcomes for diverse and underserved communities through innovative public health programming, clinical nutrition care, and
collaborative partnerships.
Dr. Broussard currently serves as a Clinical Renal Dietitian, where she provides specialized nutrition care for patients with chronic kidney disease while working closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate treatment, analyze patient data, and improve care outcomes. Her work bridges clinical practice and public health by integrating patient education, program monitoring, and quality improvement initiatives.
Prior to her current role, Dr. Broussard spent more than 20 years with the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program. During her tenure, she held several leadership roles including Public Health Nutrition
Coordinator and Interim Public Health Nutrition Manager/Director. In these positions, she managed multimillion-dollar federal and state grant programs, supervised multidisciplinary teams, and oversaw nutrition services for thousands of program participants. Her leadership significantly improved health literacy outcomes among WIC participants and strengthened community partnerships focused on addressing chronic disease and food access.
Dr. Broussard earned her PhD in Public Health from Walden University, a Master of Science in Allied Health Sciences with a concentration in Nutrition from Georgia State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Georgia State University. She is a Licensed Dietitian in the state of Georgia and a Registered Dietitian through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. She is widely respected for her leadership, mentorship, and dedication to advancing health equity through education, research, and
community engagement.
Caitlin Waddle, MS, RDN, LD
Caitlin is a Pediatric Registered Dietitian with a Master of Science in clinical nutrition and over 10 years of clinical practice experience with a focus on the nutritional management of pediatric and adolescent feeding and eating disorders and weight management. Caitlin is currently working at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and in her private practice, Sprout Pediatric Nutrition. She also serves as the State Policy Representative for The Georgia Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Ruba Jibreen, MBA, MS, RD, CSR, LD
Ruba Jibreen is a Board Certified Specialist in Renal Nutrition with a Masters degree in Nutrition and a Masters of Business Administration. She has served in the renal field for >15 years, with most of her career taking place at DaVita. More recently, she resides at Emory, where she serves as the Manager of the Renal Dietitian Team. Ruba is an active volunteer in the renal field at both the national and local levels. She has been a Board member of the NKF Council on Renal Nutrition (CRN) for 6 consecutive years, with 2 terms as an Alternate Representative and 1 term as a Representative for Region 2. Ruba is currently a member of the CRN Continuing Education Review Committee. She served as a Board Member at what was previously the GCRN, working on many committees as the Chair, Chair-elect, Membership Chair, Treasurer, and now Awards Chair for the GRNA. Alongside her professional work, Ruba has also been active in raising awareness of kidney disease by participating in local community events, such as kidney walks and health fairs.
